dlk - features
The big difference... compared to standard CPU modules:
- all components are grouped around an FPGA
- the module is completely reconfigurable. Resulting in more
flexibility, better performance, improved maintenance and optimized
design
System features:
- scalable system performance
- suitable for many CPU families (hard- or soft
CPU) and bus widths
- compact design, consists of 4-5 standard semiconductors
- development and production without programming device,
pre-programmed or specialized semiconductors
- integrated standard PC interface
- predictable small development time and costs, suitable for
low- and mid-range product volumes
- access FPGA internal ressources via PC, via internal CPU or
from both. Develop and test standard and low level routines
comfortably on the PC. Port them to the embedded CPU for final use
afterwards.
- existing products can be easily upgraded. Profitable re-use
use
of already existing technology. Logic definition via schematic, VHDL,
Verilog, ...
- storage of several FPGA configuration files and CPU
programs in single standard Flash-memory, selection of files at
run-time
- if the system concept already includes an FPGA, the ´dlk´
concept can be integrated without adding any costs
